The latest version of this program is version 4.0 Beta 12 which was released on January 28, 2010.Welcome to the tutorial for the NewsLeecher program . NewsLeecher is a newsreader which has become very popular, thanks to its very easy interface and the large number of facilities it provides. This tutorial is suitable for version 3.5 (final).
Before we begin, I will point out some major advantages and disadvantages.Advantages:
- Very clear interface
- Excellent support for multiple servers
- High flexibility and low access times. (e.g. headers you download are shown instantly)
- Built-in Super Search for quick searches on Usenet (not for free)
Disadvantages:
- No auto-download facility
- Uses quite a lot of resources while downloading
The program is shareware and costs $29,95 for one year of product updates and one year subscription to the Super Search service, or $34,95 for 2 years of product updates without Super Search subscription.
